The Spice Girls a Spicy Biography Everyone has a favorite Spice Girl. Whether it's Geri, Mel C., Mel B., Emma, or Victoria, or maybe you like all of them! Either way girl power is within them all. Many people have different ways of thinking about how the Spice Girls got famous. Only one of the stories is true. This story is the real story. It all started when a British group called Take That (all boys) split up. As the nation wept, record companies made a swift and fast recovery. Fresh talent was needed-- and soon. There was a sizeable gap in the market for an all new, all singing, all dancing, pop act to take Take That's place. A hard task indeed. Young girls needed something new and exiting, for their cleared poster space. They needed role models and idols.
The producers of Take That put an add in the magazine The Stage and scheduled an audition to start a girl group called Touch. Five girls were selected. Geri Halliwell, Melanie Chisholm, Melanie Brown, Vicotria Adams (now Beckham), and Michelle Stephenson. I know what your thinking. Where's Emma, right? Well you'll see, just keep reading! After a while Michelle Stephenson quit the group. Th producers held another audition. This time Abigail Kis was selected. Once agian, I know it's not Emma, but read on! Abigail decided she couldn't spend enough time with her boyfriend, so she quit. One of the producers remembered a student she taught in 1994 at her singing school. Emma Bunton was the missing link for Touch. It took 3 months for Emma to be located, but when she heard they wanted her to be in the group, she took the plunge. Right then Girl Power was born!
The name Touch was changed a while after they recorded their fist song titled, Sugar and Spice.Geri thought that a great name would be Spice for thier group. That name was taken my an American rapper, so their name became Spice Girls. After a while they also came up with nicknames for each member. Mel C. became Sporty Spice, Mel B. became Scary Spice, Emma became Baby Spice, Geri became Ginger Spice, and Victoria became Posh Spice.
After a period of time, the Spice Girls signed over to Virgin Records and recored the singles Wannabe, Say you'll be there, 2 become1, Love Thing/Last time lover, and Who do you think you are, and they also recorded their first album, Spice. (In 1998, SpiceWorld was recorded, and Forever, a new CD, came out in 2000. Their movie, SpiceWorld came out in 1998, along with the album.)This I am guessing was probably thier happiest moment in thier lives, and the album became the hottest album in 1996. The Spice Girls were ready; ready to change pop music forever!

Music Reviews Alicia Keys
CD Name: Songs in A Minor Artist:Alicia Keys Do you like it: Yes
Why or why not: There are two main things I love about this album: This is the first time I have explored R&B music, and her CD has really put an influence on my taste in music. I also love the way that the songs make you feel like she is singing it straight from her heart.
Fave Song: A Woman's Worth
Comments: I love this CD!!! Keep up the great work Alicia!!!!!

Do you have what it takes to be a pop star?
Could you stay away from home for months at a time? Could you perform in front of millions of people, risking humility? Would you be able to answer stupid media question? Could you handle the criticism (rumors, false info, etc.)? Think about this before saying you want to be a singer!
